We have been looking at a mid-size car to replace our Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. We started looking at the Lexus ES300 after looking at a Toyota Avalon. The quality and value that you receive in this Lexus is second to none. The safety equipment is what primarily sold us on this car and then the build quality is what caught our eye. The dealer has been great to work with as well.

I traded a 2002 Camry for this and cant go on enough about this car. I was sold on Lexus after buying an RX 300 for my wife a year ago and couldnt wait to get my own. I have enjoyed the vehicle very much for the week and half I have now had it. Extremely quiet, rich in luxury amenitites and a pure joy to drive

  • My test of the Lexus ES300 - 2003 Lexus ES 300

Basically Im very pleased with this car. The only thing that bother me is the new 5 speed transmission. Heres a brief example of what I mean: If I drive about 35mph and then slow down to about 5mph and than try to accelerate there is a hesitation. Its as if the transmission can not decide on what gear to go into. When it finally does theres a slight lurch forward. One other thing is a rattle that happened in the right rear. The dealer had to remove the rear door panels and do something to the insulation to correct it. There was a service bulletin about this problem. I didnt expect that on a brand new Lexus!

We looked at all entry level luxury cars and imeadiatly was impressed with the quality feel and ride of this car. It is the quitest car We have ever owned and the comfort level is fantastic. After owning unreliable american cars, this car is a joy to drive. We actually look forward to driving again and running erands. We dident buy this car for sport or speed so the engine power is plenty. We love the luxury items and the the automatic controls that turn on everything.

Car is driven over 100 miles per day. Average mileage 26 mpg. Great road car. Very reliable.

  • Better than my Mercedes - 2003 Lexus ES 300

My 2003 ES 300 is quieter, peppier and I feel safer in it than in my 92 MB 300 E that I traded. On California freeway at 70+ mph the engine rpm is just over 2200. The dual climate control works well and is much quieter than my old MB. The stock sound system is easily heard at freeway speeds. Im 6 4" tall and the drivers seat comfort and adjustable positions are easy to set. The only thing I will add will be after market window tinting.

  • One Great Car - 2003 Lexus ES 300

I have only had the ES 300 for a month but so far I am totally impressed with I have seen so far. We purchased the fully loaded version with the Nav and Mark Levinson stereo system. I find the ride to be great and use the active suspension on the way to work driving a bumpy curved filled road. My parents have a Delux Seville and said it rides better than their Caddy. For those who have said it needs more power I say for what? To me anyway it has more than enough power and was impressed with the pickup. I do however think the transmission could use a little work as I have found getting on the gas a low speeds cause some slightly rough shifting.
